What kinda Boost is the B Series block able to handle?
Now I heard a rumor that a B series block can't handle over one bar of boost even if its rebuilt to lets say 8:1 compression because its an "Open Case" block or something of the like.
Is this true? If it is can somebody go into further detail of why and what an open case block is...

It's open deck block - basically the stock sleeves have less strength at the top of the sleeve because they are open deck(basically the top of the sleeve doesn't make contact with the block), in order to allow coolant to pass. The open deck design is actually a lot more common then you realize, and it isn't a bad design at all. However, stock sleeves in honda's are still fairly weak(under boost and even high cr NA). Therefor it is difficult to run a lot of boost safely on stock sleeves, but it is very possible with a good tune...
1bar is about 14.5 psi, and there are kids running that much boost on stock sleeves on these forums. It is very possible, you may just need to add more fuel and retard timing in boost. If you are a budget racer this set-up will save you money in the short run. but could potentially leave you with a cracked sleeve/block in the future. It is not suggested to run too much boost on stock sleeves so if you plan on running a lot of boost you should look into getting the block resleeved.
However, you could find plenty of info on kids running 15+pounds of boost with stock block in the FI forum. Don't let people tell you that you can't run more then 8psi with stock sleeves... you can run as much boost as you want, you'll just need to get a good management system, and someone who is experienced to tune it.
Oh and 8:1cr is too low for street (maybe even track) man - you'll be a turtle up until like 3-4k rpm...
