CTR Intake CAM in GSR HEAD
just picked up a CTR INTAKE CAM, and was wondering if I would see and feel a diference , if i keep the stock GSR exhaust cam, and install the CTR intake cam would that be safe and ok?

your gsr intake cam is designed to be used with your dual runner intake manifold. replacing the intake cam with a civic type r cam will cause you to lose some of that low and mid range power you have now.

what if you upgraded it to a skunk2 manifold...would it make a difference then?

If you drop the CTR intake cam in your car, you will notice a difference. The exhaust cam is not much bigger than the stock one, so you won't see much difference with it, compared to just the intake cam upgrade.
I highly recommend the Skunk2 intake manifold, as it will aid it making more top end power, especially with the new intake cam.
As far as hitting 13's, this is possible depending on what car it's going into, and if you can drive/have traction (decent slicks).

Was it tuned on the dyno with an experienced tuner? Because adding a Type R exhaust cam on that set up is not going to do anymore. Might allow a bit more adjustment on the exhaust cam to allow for a powerband tailoring, but not much more. The ITR/CTR exhaust cam is not worth the money, unless you're getting a good package deal.

so you guys think ctr cams would make a difference if it's in a turbo application car? I know you probably wont be able to feel the difference but maybe the dyno can see the difference.
I admit the car was never tuned and it probably had more potential... The car was not mine, it was a friends. We knew about the exhaust cam so thats why we didn't get it. My car pulled on him just about the same as before when he upgraded to the type-r cam. I will say it felt better on the top end.
If anyone in this thread is interested, I just pulled the Skunk2 intake manifold off my old blown GSR, am looking to sell it. It's in perfect condition, about to put it in the classifieds as soon as I take a couple of pics this weekend. Just a heads up

NA cams = no good for turbo
gsr cams are fine
