My car: 1995 Honda CX hatchback
Motor: jdmd15b vtec
Mods: Sohc greddy kit, greddy small FMIC, turbo timer, type S bov, air/fuel, oil pressure, boost guages, thermal R&D catback.

Mission:
run 12 psi plus (possible on new turbo (20g was recomended) but for now on 15g
225++whp

Plans:
Send block (with all bottem end components) to NRG (good guys) for bore/hone/hottank/assembly
Bore .20 over
Use eagle rods and je pistons (recomended for good budget, yet not cheap build)
Arp studs
OEM headgasket
OEM bearings and whatever rings
INline4 bottom end gasket kit
turbo XS (or other brand) mbc
Hondata s200 w/ boost
Dsm 450s with resitor box
Tuning

Questions-

1. Was wondering what Size pistons to use with the .20 over stock bore??

2. What bearings/gaskets/rings need for bottom end assmebly? All oem Good?

3. Anyone used thepartsbin.com, and if its reall OEM stuff, and if so, how did u Like it and whats service like

use .20 oversized pistons

all OEM bearings and seals and rings will be fine, so long as you use rings that are properly sized for your pistons

 

Still need to know what stock piston size is so i can go .20 over

you might be able to get stock ls pistons machined to your block if your sending it in, there cheaper than getting forged pistons and there boost friendly.

 

do you mean ls rods? Cause he won't be able to use the pistons.

hey bro if you ever find out let me know too....REALLY INTRESTED IN BUILDING MY STOCK d16z6............want about 200-225 horse power on the greddy kit.....

 

guys if your lookin for 200-225 on your blocks you dont need to build them um, just go with a block gaurd and some good tuning, maybe a 2mm head gasket, other than that you can hit 200 225 hp on like 10 psi good luck though.

LS pistons = 81mm

SOHC = 75mm

That's a HUGE OVERBORE to fit B series pistons in a SOHC!

But for the questions:

1) Check with the piston manufacturer that you're going with. Most can do customs sizes, or have popular sizes in stock.

2) OEM always.

3) Never used it, sorry.

Im actually lookin for 225-250 + so im hoping to reach that goal..

you should be able to hit 250whp easy with a built dseries,

just tune it right

NO!

20 over is in thousands of an inch.
0.020 over is actually 75.5mm

Common overbore sizes on stock sleeves are 0.010 and 0.020 over, or 0.25 or 0.5mm

I will be running 77mm pistons on my sleeved rs block, and I m selling a sleeve 75.5mm GE Sleeved ZC

 

So the piston size i will need with the .20 stock overbore
will be 75.50??

It's a guy selling machined b16a rods with toyota pistons (forged)...

He's run pretty high boost with nothing but those and a thicker headgasket....

Why are you rebuilding your motor? D series motors arent as weak as everyone makes them out to be, 225-250 whp is safe on a stock motor. The sleeves are exactly the same as a b series motor, the only weak point is the rods. If i were you, I wouldn't do a rebuild unless the motor is already toast unless you want 300+ whp. Tuning is the key to keeping a motor healthy, not building it like a brick shithouse.
