B20b smoking but compression and leakdown look great. Any help?
Well here are the numbers:
1: 2%
2: 3.5%
3: 3.5%
4: 2%
Compression
evens have 171
odds have 168
This was all using a digital set of gauges on a b20b that was turboed. It smokes pretty bad while shifting and at idle. i had thought it was the turbo, but i removed it and it still smokes. What else could it be? bad PCV system? too much fuel? What can i check?
The smoke is dark in color and smells like burning oil.

I also think maybe valve seals...
Have you pulled the spark plugs? Or the header/exhaust minifold?
On a non-honda motor(An AMC 304 cu. i. V8, to be exact) that I had in my Jeep, I had the valve seals go out, same thing, good comp & leakdown. 5 cylinders had pretty bad valve seals, was easy to see by the oil-foiled plugs and oily residue in those exhaust runners...

Oil rings sticking, broke or worn have no effect on compression and leakdown test. But there are other possibilities, valve stem seals are another, even clogged pcv valve.
