on a d16y7 does the oil pump have a gasket or is it just a o ring??? we did a vtec head swap in it an blew out the crank seal an are gonna try an change the sealw/o taken off the pump but in case we have to we would like to no if its a gasket or oil pump? or ne suggestions on how to take it out an replace?

on the y7 its just a seal aroung the crank nose. it would be extreamly hard to remove with out taking off the iol pump.

 

is the seal a standard size like could i go get a asortment off o rings?

No its a seal you have to buy. make sure you lube it before you pound it in

 

ok i got ya i already ordered it from the honda dealer an they were like it says o ring so i hope it is the right thing

 

Its the only seal in that area of the motor
