Default vtec civic turbo question...vs wrx

last night a friend told me that vtec engines succh as the engine i want to swap B16A, were harder to turbo. you have to change the chip in it?
please enlighten me.
im dead set on getting my civic though all my mates have wiked cars such as wrx 2001 turbs, r34 skyline turbs, twin turbo soarer, and a silvia soon to be turbed.
id like to keep up so b4 i swap the engine id like to rebuild it. then way after turbo it (lack of money ha ha)
btw--swap intoa 92 vti ( i live in australia)

they're lying to you. you should be able to bolt up a turbo to a b16 just fine runing a stock ECU. although you might not keep up with them, it will run fine

not even the wrx ? i took a rideinnit last night it goes pretty hard i think they are 250 hp. a mate has a 2001 integra and it just kept up with it.

Hey mate. By the time you can afford a turbo, Edelbrock may have their B16 kit available. I read that it is in the works. Edelbrock is known for the completeness of their kits, at least for the D16Y8 anyway. But you can always go with Greddy, FMAX, or RevHard; companies which I believe all make kits for the B16. As for fuel management, it's most likely going to come in the form of an FMU, AFC, piggyback, or a stand-alone.
