Default D15 turbo

I have a 98 ek hatch and i still have the stock motor (D15)..I only have 45k miles on the motor so i really don't want to pull it out just yet before i put a B16..does some one know a good turbo set up for my sohc motor...would anyone even recommend me going turbo on my sohc motor or just spend the money on a b series motor..if i do go with turbo i want to expect the motor to last about 50k miles more..is that possible without spending a ton of money?

First of all, you have a D16y7 in your hatch and I have a Greddy turbo with a bunch of extras on mine and love it.

i hear turbo reduces the reliability of your engine..although i am planning on swapping a b series motor in i dont want to rush myself into debt...what is the recommended psi to be running if you expect some longevity out of your engine..thanks for the correction..i had a feeling it was a D16

A turbo's reliabilty lies in the owner. You have to build with quality parts, do your maintenance and not beat on it all day long. I drive mine more than 80 miles a day and it's fine. It's your money, so you decide. With less than the cost of your B16 swap in your car I can run high 13 second 1/4 mile passes.

i would recommend going turbo in your car... you will love it, i have no doubt. since you dont know a lot about them i would suggest running a greddy kit or an apexi kit. your motor will handle them fine and you can get them for under $2000 if you play your cards right. Emerika had his apexi kit for sale for $1850 i think and it is spotless. either get a new kit or make sure you are buying it from a very reputable person because i am assuming that you are kind of a newb and might get all excited and buy a junkass kit or get ripped off. good luck and boost that **** already

I think Evan may have sold that kit already, but if not he dropped the price down some.
