Default Engine turning slow?

hey guys i havent been able to get my car started... at first i thought it was just distributor wiring not giving me spark... but i think it may be something else.. when i crank the motor the engine turns really slow and thats with a fully charged battery.. and i had the starter checked and tried jumping it myself to start the car.. same weak noise.. could use some guesses
timing off?

If you starter and battery are good the next thing i would check would be the timing. I had a d16z6 with turbo and I rebuilt the head, and when i put it back together it did the same thing as yours i recheked the timing and it was like 15 degrees retarded.

Don't over look the possibility of a bad electrical connection between the battery and the starter. visually check all connections......corrosion can hide out of sight however. Also perform a voltage drop check on the starter wire. Hook up a DVOM to the positive terminal on the starter from the battery and see what the voltage drop to when cranking. You can have a good connection but when under eclectrical load the corrosion is proviving such a high resistance that the starter isn't getting full power.

thanks for your input.. the starter is apparently brand new and looks it... i looked it over and didnt notice any corrosion and i tried jumping the starter from the power wire instead of using the ignition signal wire and turning the key and it still sounded the same... The car will not start if the main relay is bad correct?
im going to replace that if thats the case

The car won't start if the main relay is bad, but a bad main relay won't make your starter spin slowly. You might still have a bad connection somewhere. Ground wires?

ok well then im getting a free main relay today, im going to check that.. it could be a loose ground but ive checked the main 3... all i know is that when i wired the obd1 dizzy wrong thats when i fucked something up electrically... so i just need ideas as to what i messed up.. i had the starter checked and its fine and i tried jumping it to make sure it wasnt the ignition relay not giving enough juice
still turning slow.. gonna check the timing today

Try using a brand new battery.

Sometimes a recharged battery is faulty and fakes like it's fully charged but isn't capable of turning over the engine. An internal short is happening in this case and a new battery is the remedy.

i guess my assumption was correct and fast 94 was right.. the timing was way off each cam gear was 180 degrees out of alignment... so now i got it cranking full speed only **** is the beast still wont fire up... i dont know if i flooded the plugs or what... but im getting there... so ill do some work this weekend and try a new battery from my friends car... i doubt optima didnt live up to their name.. beastly batteries i tell you
