If any one has any suggestions for my problem it is greatly appericated

When i am up at the higher rpms in VTEC at WOT the car seems to bog or hesitate
When looking at my air fuel guage at the time this is occuring it doesnt seem like there is any fuel cut off of any sort.
Maybe it is not a Bog but thats what it seems in may just be goin in and out of VTEC i am not really sure the only visual I have is the A/F gauge
I was thinking about install a test light for the VTEC to see if the system is engaged the whole time but i have yet to do that.

Has this happened to anyone or does anyone have any suggestions ?

Did you check your engine oil level?

 

Check your ignitor. Had the same thing happen to my friend's B18C.

 

Well i am 100 or so miles past my scheduled oil change but last time a check my levels where ok

What should i check on the ingitor - wiring i guess right
I have a MSD SCI with external Coil I will check the wiring on that
Thats been in for a while before i started having these problems
I will certainally check it
What was your friends solution to his problem

How often are you changing oil and how hard are you using the car. Lots of city driving?

 

Well i am past a scheduled change and about every 3k miles

And i live in NYC theres plenty of hard city roads
theres not many nice smooth country like curvy roads

i would check oil level first - and then have the dealer look at it if it continues to be a problem.

 

Try this: take the cover off your airbox and run it to redline a few times. If it now it goes all the way to the 8.6K rev limiter, then you have the same thing I experienced not too long ago. If that doesn't fix it, then it's either your oil level/quality like others mentioned, ignition, or hopefully nothing more severe than that.

 

Well i just changed the oil an hour or so ago and took the car on a test drive.
Everything was working fine. I will find out farther when i drive to go pickup my girlfriend (pain in the *** can't take the bus -- although the reason why she dont have her car is becuase i crashed it...opps sorry babe)
So i guess i had a low oil level
I check it before i changed the oil and it seemed ok but those of you who have an STR oil dipstick know its a pain in the *** to read that.
