consume too much oil...

Default consume too much oil...

my 98 luse has only 80K miles and the motor consume too much oil. there's no oil leaking anywhere, there's some smoke when warm up in the morning but once it's warm, no more smoke. does anyone know what is wrong?

it's probaly normal. If ur in vtec a lot then your going to eat oil.

if vtec consume that much oil, then it would never been built.
I am talking about 1 quart of oil per week.

no, not normal.

I'd suggest performing dry and wet compression test and seeing what your results are.

Could be rings, valve seals, cylinder walls, etc.

The compression test would be a good place to start though.

check your cam seals, valve cover gasket, all that stuff.

your not seeing ANY oil anywhere?

i have the same problem, but i do use v-tec alot..just dropped my built engine in 3 weeks ago.... i dunno bout 1 quart a week, but it eats alot.. my engine is brand new too.. sucks.

I would do a compression check, and also replace the PCV valve, then go from there.

I also have the exact same issue. When I vtec all the time I go through about a quart a week and honda says its normal? I dont think so. There are guys on here with turbo ludes and engines that are built that dont burn a drop.
And of all people they should be burning oil.

should you be driving that hard on a freshly built motor?

ohh, and mine drinks alot of oil too. I think maybe my rings are going bad. Need a compression test bad.
