Default s-afc 97 prelude

I have an s-afc left over from my old car and I was wondering if I could use it on my 97 base model prelude with just an intake. Would it even be worth it or should I try and get a v-afc instead? Sorry for the stupid question

yeah you can still use it the same way as the vafc. the only difference is the vafc can change the vtec crossover but other than that the safc is the same thing

^^^ What he said but let me add that you'll see minimal gains with the S-AFC. The V-AFC will probably get you more mid-range HP by kicking the vtec in earlier... just don't use the "butt-dyno" when you decide to start messing with the S-AFC or V-AFC.

doesnt he have to use the s afc because he said he has a base model prelude (im guessing without V tec?). for example, can someone use a v afc on an integra LS(no vtec)?

Yes, you can use a V-AFC on a non-vtec engine... just don't wire in the vtec or wires associated with vtec.
