We'll between the two, the safc. BUT since you are turbo'ing your car, you better look at a full EMS setup. I would recommed AEM. The safc if 'ok' if your running n/a, but for tuning your fuel maps it is limited. And that is a must if your going turbo. JMO

[edit]oops typo

I have the VAFC II (the new one). I also have Vtec. I should have gotten the SAFC. The Vtec crossover adjustability is garbage with boost unless you have an H22 or prelude with H22 (due to a uneven power curve) The SAFC has a knock alert and you can program different maps to select from for different conditions. I found this out too late.

Wrong. The new ones- Vafc = Vtec controller, Safc = Knock alert and two programmable and switchable maps. Either one does not have the other. Yes they are both fuel controllers, I'm just saying that the knock alert is better to have than the Vtec controller...

nope, the S-AFC 1 & 2 both do not have vtec crossover control. the safc basically was made for factory turbo charged cars, where as the V-AFC was designed specifically for honda's Vtec motors.

hondata and aem systems are only good for those with tuners near by. for those without tuners, the afc hack will be the best route. i went with the afc hack for 2 months until i found a worthy tuner and sold my afc and got a hondata 3B. just needed my car up and running and i needed some experience in how to tune etc....so it helped a little.

is it worth it to have a vtec controller?, or in this case buy the vafc.
what gains do you have by adjust the point at which the engine switches from the Lo to Hi cam ?

alll motor...with only basic bolt ons...no i don't think it's worth it. at Elite Autosport where i get my car tuned and volunteer my time, the most i've seen i from dyno tuning with a vafc is about 3-5whp. and that was with built motors/cams, cam gears..etc. with only h/i/e, i don't know if you'll make more than 1-2whp.
