Default How to FLOW TEST a fuel pump?

whats the proper way to test a fuel pump to make sure its supplying proper fuel amounts? I heard you can disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail, put it in a bucket, and prime the pump. But I also heard that way doesnt allow the system to build up fuel pressure. Short of getting a fuel pressure gauge, how can I test my fuel pump to make sure its working properly?

RC flow tests fuel pumps if you have time to send it to them.

Probably similar to flow testing an injector, they take a graduated cylinder and a constant test pressure and digital voltage signal and monitor it for time and level in the graduated cylinder. I dont know any other at home way of doing it other than a fuel pressure gauge.
Maybe buy one at advance, auto zone, carquest and return it or rent it?
