if you've got a helms manual,it's not that hard. just take your time, get all the necessary tools , especially feeler gauges, and you're on your way.

I rather let them do it so they will
accept full resposibilty if anything goes wrong...
cause if you do it yourself you are going to feel like\
an ***..

I would just let them do it. I tried doing something similar to that myself instead of paying a little bit of money. When it didnt work I felt sick to my stomach and still ended up paying for someone to fix my mistakes.

i think its a rip off
i say only let them do the things that you cant do like all of the machining
but it really easy to out the block back together theres not even that many parts
all u have to do is check all the bear ing clearances with plastic gauge

..Yeah it was easy to take the block apart but if i let them put the long block together it was 299, and they want to use there bearings I couldnt use ACL
I dont think they will warranty the block either because Im going to boost it
Should I give it a try?

just make sure you have a recently calibrated torque wrench, also take special care when assembling piston rings, there are very special procedures for almost every part. and buy a lot of asembly lube and use it like its going out of style. 299 isnt that bad if you consider shop rates and the amount of hours they calculate. oh yeah almost fogot wash everything when you get it home just cuz it came out of a box it aint clean.

If that is the helms in .pdf i already said i have that
I want to go buy one but i dont know if i should buy a teg one or if i need one that would tell me how to put together a b16
the motor isnt going to be shipped back to me; its at a local machine shop; but yeah id still wash it down; what extra tools do i need to get just a feeler gauge and follow my bible (helms) step by step and i should be fine? I got ACL bearings too...(if that helps)
