Default Gas light gone out?

It's kind of strange, but lately i've noticed that when fuel tank gauge is on 'E', my light would kind of come on one time and the next time it was on 'E', it wouldn't come on at all. Now, when i'm almost empty the gas light doesn't come on at all, which caused me to almost run out of gas the other day. Would this be the orange LED that actually burned out or something else causes this? I also haven't had an illuminated cruise light button for the last two years as well ( i have a feeling that obviously must have burnt out as well). Not really a big thing, but it still bugs me If any ideas, let me know. Also, how hard are these Led light to replace if it is actually them?

No, what I'm saying is that the little orange, warning gas light no longer illuminates to warn me that i'm running out of gas. Anyone else know if the led is burned out or is a sensor e.t.c. ? Thanks

Do yourself and your car a favor and keep enough gas in it. It could be bad for the fuel pump in the long run running the tank that low all the time. Just forget about the problem and keep gas in it!!!!!!

The same thing happened to mine . . . haven't figured it out yet (but haven't really tried either). First thing to check would be the bulb, though.

Do you have a 5th Gen. Prelude? Whenever I had mine, it never came on. I've talked to other people, and they've said the same thing. I believe that they don't even have a gas light in the first place.

I have a 4th gen. When I drain the flel so low that I only have one led showing, my light does not come on either. I have tried running the car reall low after that and still no light. When i got gas on that same tant, i think i put about 15 gallons in even. I know that the 4th gen has a 15.9 tank but i think the fas light comes on when there is like maybe a .5 gallon left. correct me if im wrong though.

It comes on at usually 1/4 tank with fuel (so i've been told), which is more than sufficient for you to get to a gas pump for refueling. Also, I usually don't let the fuel in the tank get down too low before I fill it up anyway. I just want to know why in the heck the light no longer illuminates if does get that low. I'm still awaiting a straight answer if someone could tell me if the Led is possibly burned out or a sensor is not causing the light to come on.

my gas light usualy starts to flicker on when i have a 2 maybe 3 led bars still lit. and when your tank gets low enough the light should stay solid, if everything is working right that is. i know when i get real low on gas mine stays solid. but fading on and off from what i have seen is normal, and that is due to fuel sloshing in the tank

and according to my hels with less than 2.4 gallons in the tank with the car runing on a level surface the fuel indicator lamp should come on with in 4 minutes

Exactly - mine comes on intermittently and faint with a bar or two left on the gauge. It then flickers off when the fuel sloshes around, and comes on strong when there is one bar left all the way down to the fumes.
Check the bulb in the back, look at slhonda.com > electrical/meter sub display for your car. It shouldn't be too hard to replace the bulb - just take out your cluster and access the back of it where the bulbs screw in.
