Thats what it is supposed to do...you aren't supposed to let a tank run that dry.

It could be that your needle got off track or something... Like the needle sits in a different spot now, and it seems like your gas light is now coming on at a different time. ****, I don't know if that made sense or not... someone get what i'm trying to say?

umm yea thats what its supossed to do
i dont think quarter tank calls for a gas light.. and honestly jsut watch your gas gauge
its not that hard. and if you realli dont trust ur gas gauge then calculate how much gas u normally get to a tank and go off ur odometer.

That's an urban myth.. It's all bullshit.. Where do you suppose the inlet to your pump is located? At the top of the tank where there is NO GAS??? Haha.. use your head before you say something.. The pump lives on the bottom of your tank.. end of story...
Further more..
If you are really worried about it, check it out.. get a 5 gallon can of gas.. fil it up.. when your light comes on, throw the tank of gas in the back of your car and go for a drive and see how long you can drive before it starts to sputter.. this will give you an idea of what your range is.. Now all you have to do is take the gas can, pour it into your tank and find a gas station.. Easy as that..
