Default Disaster strikes, never got to drive my B18C5 hatch...

So last week i got tired of the b16 in my hatch and I decided to rob my CRX's C5, this was one of the biggest mistakes i have made ever. The swap was in, i had a LSD YS1 tranny installed and everything was perfect, WRONG my buddy told me that the clutch on the C5 was almost gone and i needed to change it (i should have checked it B4 I put the tranny on the engine but i was too pumped to think about something like that) so i pull the engine out and pull the tranny off and put in a 6 puck with the stock OEM pressure plate.

Everything was ready again and i swapped in the motor in to the hatch, i was pumped and just ready to run the car. Only one problem, the axle shaft didnt want to come out of the inter shaft on the old inter shaft, so i used a differnt shaft and a different axle. After 1 full day of messing with it and not realizing that the axle wasnt going to slide all the way into the shaft i decided to use the old inter. shaft with the old shaft stuck in it. So i go get a new CV boot install it. I put in the shaft with the axle stuck in it together onto the swap, i then install the pass. side axle and everything is ready to go WRONG again, my buddy had left with my PR3 because he was making another chip for my PR3, so another 2 days go by B4 i get the ECU back.

He gets back 2 days later and explains to me how he forgot the ECU was in his car yadah yadah, i didnt care i wanted to run the car right then and there, so i put on the wheels double check everything plug and I plug in the ECU. i crank the engine over and it turns on instantly. The motor sounded nice and it was ready to rip my tires apart. I start to pull out of the bay, and i hear a clack, i think to my self "its only a wrench that i ran over or something" so i keep on going. i start turing the wheel to leave my drive way and i hear clack clack CLACK. So i then get out of the car. I knew something was up. I check and see what was up, it was no biggie the pass side axle and broken apart at the CV joint WRONG again. I lift the car and as i start to pull the axle and I notice a HOLE in my tranny, the axle had snapped out of the shaft and made a hole through my cable tranny .

I was then over the B18C5 (it was evil, and had bad luck ) i wanted just to blow the whole car up, because besides what i mentioned here another million things went wrong in this swap. My buddy knew i was pissed and that i need a running car so he offered me his 93 EG Ex coupe for just the longblock, i was desperate in need so i took the engine out for like the 4th time and traded the engine for this EG

Couldnt you have the tranny flushed and welded or is gone to tranny heaven?

Had you run that tranny before? Did you look at the area where the hole is before installation? That hole doesn't look cracked or busted, it looks melted! Yeah your axle is busted, but did that cause the hole? Wrecking yards frequently torch axles instead of pulling them. This hole is in the area just behind the joint where they would torch the axle. I dunno, If you just bought the tranny, someone may have sold it to you that way? Is that melted aluminum on top of the tranny next to the hole?

I actually think (judging from the pics) that that hole was already there, and someone previously tried to patch it up.

that trany looks ok, as long as it didn't hurt anything inside, i'd tear it down and weld it up with an aluminium welder

the hole wasnt there b4 and it wasnt heated or anything (i think) for one i ran the tranny with the orig. b16 it came with and 2 when i pulled off the tranny one of the bearings that go inside the tri-leg inside the CV boot was inside the hole of the tranny and on top of all the i heard the clacking. And ya i suck i have no patients i just wanted to drive the gay car this isnt the first time my paitence has ruined me, and i know its not the last. As for the tranny im going to transfer everything from this case into an LS one that i picked up today, but hopefully i will find a YS1 case, so the gears will be back at home. The hatch is done with im going to put in a motor SOHC ZC B series what ever (anyone have a swap that wants to get rid of it for cheap in SoCa?l SOHC prefferd but i will take a ZC or b series swap for cheap) anyways ya i want to get rid of the car and get back to my CRX the car the C5 should have gone in. As for the CRX i dont know what im going to put in, i was thinking about installing another h22 into a EF but i already went through hell last time i did so just to have the car totaled 2 weeks after by a drunk driver. So im not sure what i will do with the CRX but first i need to get the hatch out of here and start on the CRX.....

ya its ghetto, i used to off-road it with the B16 i had in it b4, i had integ springs on civ shocks so it was way lifted in front...matter of fact i have a picture of my like 2 feet in the air right behind a truck, il have to look for that and post it...only thing that sucked about getting 2 ft off the ground was that the oil pick up and oil pan went to chet when i landed that jump
