Default I sold out (EF forum), I traded my B18C5 for an EG coupe....

I told many heads i wasn't going to get rid of my C5 but i had to. I once had a B18C5 EF hatch. Sad thing is i never got it to run. Everything was perfect and ready to run after a week of crap with axles and other gay stuff that kept comming up. So i start to pull the car out of the bay, and im just pumped and ready to get on the freeway and mash up some gears. I hear a clack, so i stopped and thought to my self, ah no biggie i ran over a wrench or something so i kept going. I hear the clack again but louder so then i stopped and checked everything out. Just my luck the passenger axle had broken apart it stretched out while i was turning/pulling out of the bay. So i lift the car and notice the busted axle and a HOLE in my tranny . A buddy of mine knew i was mad at the engine and offered me a 93 EX coupe with perfect interior and clean runing engine for my longblock alone. I needed a running car so i got rid of the bad luck C5 for the coupe. Il have pics up of the car in a bit, but would u guy's traded the engine for a complete car? i got the swap for cheap so i can't complain but did i loose on this one?

You made the right decision in my opinion. You can look at and drive a running vehicle. All you can do is look at the c5 and wonder what the hell I'm gonna do now. Good luck on the new build.

Okay I read the linked story, looked at your pics, etc. and I have to ask why you were in such a hurry?

You just traded a longblock worth at least $2,500.00-$3,000.00 or so for a car that looks to be worth $1,800.00 or so.

IMO it's a bad trade, but then again only you can attest to how frustrated you were with that swap.

Your problems were a result of being hasty - the axles, the ECU, etc. - had you been patient I think you would have had better results.

I'm not trying to be an *** or anything, but I think you posted this in hopes of seeing others' opinions, so...

Owning both EF&EH chassis cars, you'll ENJOY working on the coupe. As much as I love EF's, they are the least enjoyable Civic to work on.

I thought 90-93 Teg axles worked for B swaps into EF's?

Seems like you lost out because you got rid of the c5 longblock, however now you have a complete running car...Clean it up, sell it, and go buy another motor..simple as that

Like I said in my IM to you, I have owned the B18C1, B16A2, and the B18C5 and the B18C5 ruins the others. It is well worth the extra money.

I have dynoed all 3 with basic i/h/e mods, and here's what I got:

B16A2: 143whp 102ft-lbs. of torque

B18C1: 150whp 121ft-lbs. of torque

B18C5: 175whp 122ft-lbs. of torque - this was a baseline with the stock cast-iron exhaust manifold to - the others had Dc headers on them.

Again I speak from EXPERIENCE - sounds like you speak from ignorance and jealousy.
