new turbo install questions...
ok, so I'm about ready to bolt on my new snail, but I've run into a minor snag. On the outlet side (to the IC) my current housing has a 45 degree elbow on it to make the turn. My new turbo obviously does not have this elbow, as it was welded onto my current piece. Could I take the outlet housing off of my old turbo and bolt it onto my new one? I've yet to find someone to weld aluminin well, so I've kind of come to a standstill. It appears to be about 8 13mm bolts on the back of the housing, and seems to be a simple remove and replace. TIA
dang sorry about that...I'm taking off a t3/t4 Turbonetics, and putting a t3 Turbonetics back on. I may be wrong, but I thought the compressor side was the T3 part of the hybrid...does that help any?
the intake side of both of the snails are the same 3" (roughly) diameter, and as far as eyeballing, they look identical. where the fins are on the inside appears to be the same too, but are the differences in size too minor for me to safely eyeball? like the tolerences between the compressor wheel and the housing seem pretty close on my new turbo, would the need to be equally as close when I swap housings, or does a millimeter or two really not matter?

man, if that were an option, don't you think I would have by now? amazingly enough, not everybody on the east coast has a heliarc welder laying around in their basement. and I'm working on a kinda small window of opportunity i.e.: the service manager will be off work at the Honda dealer tomorrow, and my buddy that works there has agreed to help me...
i dont care for your lack of a welder, just let me repeat leave your turbo alone, atleast with the IC pipe you can use a slicone elbow and short length of tube and no welding.
