K, i've got my engine in and EVRYTHING is hooked up, except there is one plug coming off my engine harness that i do not have on my Si harness, and there is a 4-wire plug coming off my ECU harness that i dont have on my engine harness. I will get sum pics of it up pretty soon if that will help at all. But if you know what i can do, please fill me in cuz i'm stuck and i want to avoid buyin a $250 v-tec harness

if the engine is out of a 97 then its obd2 your car is obd1. im not too sure on it but i think you have to get at obd2 to obd1 conversion harness because the obd2 engine has more sensors and emission stuff. where are the 'unknown' connectors located?? and what ecu are you running?

You have to use the SI harness and wire in Vtec. You also have to use your SI distributor( OBDI Vtec and SI distributors are the same) and you also have to get a set of OBDI H22A injectors or buy a set from RC or something.
My motor is from a '98. It all works. Its going to be a bitch to switch out the 97 harness with your SI harness if the motor is already in the car. I know cause i ran into that problem .

so do u think it would be easier to take my engine out and do it while its outta the car, or to just try to do it while its in the car?

It would be easier, but if you think its not to much trouble pulling the motor and tranny and then dropping it back in. Its really up to you, i did mine with the motor in the car cause i didn't feel like pulling everything off and pulling the motor just to replace the harness.
i used like 16 gauge wire. Oh your going to need the plug from a Vtec model Accord or Prelude (I'm not sure if a Integra or Civic plugs will work too). Just extend the wire on the cut plugs and run them to the ECU, It should be 3 wires in all, well ones ground and you can ground anywhere you have a good piece of metal to ground to.

right on, thanks for the help man... another Q tho... the motor came with the plugs for the ECU half of the harness but was cut just on the other side of it, would it be smarter/easier to run those to the ecu and get an OBD 1 converter, or to put my SI harness on... if i did the SI harness, which plug would u be talking about?
The 2 plugs for Vtec, the pressure switch and Solenoid valve. They are right behind the distributor. Just leave all the harnesses (SI harnesses) the same. You'll need the run the wires for Vtec straight to the ECU.
