Default My heater smells like antifreeze

I can only smell the antifreeze when I am at a stop though. As soon as I get moving again I cant smell anything. My thermostat was stuck about two weeks ago and I fixed it last week. I don't know how long it was bad though, as I have been smelling the antifreeze for quite a while now. Since I changed the thermostat, there has not been any burned up coolant in the radiator and the over flow is still where I filled it up at last week. Did I just screw up my heater core when the thermo. was bad and it is still burning off **** that got inside it or what? I really dont know how the heater system works.

sounds like you have a leaky heater core, which will be fun to replace. try looking inside the dash where the heater core is, see if there is any coolant or looks like there was some. it will be relatively easy to tell if there is.
