Default Heater Core Replacement or Not??

My 2002 Civic is losing coolant slowly when I turn on the fan or when I hit the recycle air button. The only way to keep coolant in the car is to drive with the fan completely off and the temp **** turned all the way on heat. It’s starting to get warm out here so driving on a hot day with the windows down and heat blowing out of my vents is not ideal at all. Any ideas what it could be? Would it be worth it to try and flush the heater core or is it just done. Thanks!!

Do you see the coolant leaking anywhere when you turn on the heater? Because, if not, the coolant could be getting burned off due to a blown headgasket.

its not too common for a heater core to leak unless atleast 20 years has passed but not impossible, you can pressurize the system and look for visible leaks to be sure, you have to pull the dash normally to get to the heater core and it's a bit of work
