ok, i need loosen my belt tensioner and set my engine to tdc. thing is, i cant get my crankshfat pulley bolt off!! i have a 600ft lb + 120psi compressor impact goin against and and it wont even budge. i dont have the special tool for it or the strap/chain wrenches to help with the job. i heard that i oculd put the car in 5th and have a freind hold down the brake while i break it loose. does this work if my head isnt on the car? seriously im going crazy, im hopin to have everythign done by this weekents. much help appreciated thanks.

Yeah, I took mine to a local transmission shop and he just stuck his impact wrench under the wheel well and popped it off in about a second...then I hand tightened it, drove it home and put on my new pulley.

Then you can just hand tighten it again(you'll be safe to drive a few miles), and drive back up and have em hit it with the impact
