You will need a special tool that keeps the crank pulley from rotating while you loosen the crank bolt with a breaker bar. I have the tool for sale but it wont fit with the engine in the car, it has to be out of it. There are many other "ghetto" ways of doing it but i will keep away from those.

If your interested, the tool is brand new and i bought it for $70 will let it go for $45.

yea, use crank pulley holder (sold by either honda or snap-on or other tool manufacturers) some extension bars, breaker bar, jackstands to support extension bar, and a huge muscular 200+lb person

fyi, it will hurt when u break the nut loose. gluck

It's not as hard as people say. I've broken it loose by my lonesome when the engine was not even in the car. Need that pulley holder though.

snap on titanium air gun w/ 1000 ft lbs reverse torque .......but flip since you don't have air tools, grab a breaker bar, a cheater bar(or cheater bars) a pulley holder and about 3 guys. good luck.

flip you can get it without pulling, it just requires patience, stability and brute force.......or a set of air tools.

An easy way out......... Go to a gym, get the buffest, most muscle bounded guy there. and have him loosen it with his bare hands......!

Just get one hell of a breaker bar, and grab a cheater bar. If you have the money, and know of a place get a flywheel ring gear stoper. and pop it off!

Buddy of mine broke his wrist taking a pulley off once so whatever you do do it carefully.

no you don't have to pull the motor. if you look at the drivers side engine mount it is specificaly designed so that you can lower the motor using the mount so that you can get clearence thru the fender well. and the tool i have from honda works just fine with the motor in the car. basically you have to find a way o keep the motor from spinning while you try to losen it. the first time i took mine off i have to use the honda tool and then me and my dad had to bounce on a 6 foot pipe extention off of a breaker bar , and then it came loose.

I did mine with no special tools and no air tools either. Took like 2 minutes.
Get a long *** breaker bar. Put the car in gear. Have a friend step on the brakes.
Here is how I did it.
Take off the wheel + Belts(duh)
Make sure I had 3 jack stands under the car. Now I put the breaker bar on the bolt.
Now I lied down in front of the car and put my feet on the bar and held onto the front cross member.
Push like hell on the breaker bar and Presto it broke free.
Friend had to really push on the brakes because they kept slipping.

Putting it back on I didn't have anyone to help me so I put a bar in between the lug bolts and turned it until it was hitting the ground.
(This may break the lug bolts but they are cheap and easy to replace so I wasn't worried. But don't blame me if you **** something up)

here is an old indian trick i learned...

take out a spark plug, then make sure the particular cylinder is on teh compression stroke. get some 3/8" nylon rope and feed it into the cylinder until its full. be sure to put something on the end of the rope so it doesnt fall in. now when you are cranking on the bolt, the piston will compress on the rope and eventually stop and give you the needed edge to break the bolt loose. just make sure you have the piston in the right position so as the valves will not be open.

tried this, and i over came my clutch.

i really don't like the idea of putting all that stress on my rod and bottom end, never mind the head. i mean i had a 3 foot breaker bar with the CORRECT honda tool and a 6 foot metal peice of pipe added on to the breaker bar and it took me and my dad equaling over 400 pounds bouncing on the pipe to get it to come lose. now maybe some others out there are loser but hell , mine was a super bitch

yeah, if yours was that tight, i wouldnt use that method. also, you can apply heat with a torch and it will make a world of difference.

i have used the rope method on several occasions and it has worked everytime. but i never needed more than a 18" breaker bar.

A little tip on any bolt... Don't push down but Pull up. This way if you use your leg strength you can apply a lot more force than the weight of your body.
If you have ever gone to a gym and done the leg presses look at how much weigh you can pus there. Most people can push at least 100lbs more than they weigh.

The rope trick.... Very bad idea. First off your prolly going to bend valves. 2nd I would not want that much force on one piston. Could damage a bearing or other things. Just a bad Idea in all.

well i got it out. Now i just have to go to sears to get a replacement rachet cuz i broke it It wasn't as hard as i thought it would be. i just put a screwdriver in the flywheel teeth put a 1/2 rachet on the pulley with a 2ft extension. Sat infront of my car and pushed as hard as i could with my foot. only took about 2 hard pushes.
