i just got done installing my skunk2 intake manifold on my GSR motor(in my 98 civic), and everything went well except for the fact that the blow off valve sits way too high now(cant close the hood).. the throttle cable sits a little high now too but i think the hood should still be able to close.
so my question is, are there any designated areas on the charge piping that the BOV will be most efficient in? are there some areas/angles that are better or worse than others?
other then the hood closing problem, the car runs awesome, no CEL or anything like that and it pulls a lot harder/smoother in the mid-top range... one of the best mods to my car so far..
any help is appreciated, here is something i did in paint really quick(for the visual people)...

well from my understanding the closer the BOV is to the compressor the better

 

um...i dunno. but maybe look at the thing thats connecting the bov to the charge pipe...looks pretty long. cut that down. 1 problem fixed and as for the throttle cable, get a shorter one! duh. i think an si or a sohc throttle cable will work.

yea i was thinking of just chopping that extenstion on the flange down.... hopefully that would give enough room...

 

if i was you, i'd just take a good 1.5 inches out of that crazy *** extention on the flange you have going on there.

 

For the throttle cable issue, you can have an oem look to it, grab a throttlebody from ur old sohc (or somebody's sohc), use the pulley on ur gsr tb, then go to the acura dealership and pick up a throttle cable and bracket from an itr, that way you have an oem look on ur skunk2 manifold.

PS. Instead of the sohc throttlebody, you can get an str one (if u wanna upgrade), they have holes on their pulley for gsr and non-gsr cables, dunno who else has that on their tb.

yup, u might need to cut the flange a little. i had to do the same with my civic and hood clearance is fine.

i'll most likely just cut the flange down like i had orginally planned to do, but i figured if that wouldnt work i'd find out where another good spot would be to put the BOV... thanks for all the info guys..

i havent had a chance to upload them yet... but yea everything is running great excpet for that annoying vacuum sound coming from that little black "thing"..

You want the BOV towards the throttle body, because the air mass as inertia in that direction.

If you can just cut the flange shorter, you'll be fine. Worse case, move it down some, which is also fine.

no.... the SS braided line that you see is tee'd off the fuel line to a fuel pressure gauge...

Shoulda extended that flange instead and cut a hole in ur hood
