Default b18a w/gsr or type r pistons?

i can get a decent deal on a b18a long block(AT). thinking of putting it in a 4Gcrx, hb, or 4dr. i wanted to know how a stock b18a would handle higher compression. would it be worth it(maybe a +15hp gain)? or should i forget the thought. also i dont have the money to do a ls/vtec thats why im asking.

Lot's of people have run CTR or ITR pistons in b18a or b blocks. I have .25 over CTR pistons in the b18a/b I'm currently building.

compression with

p73-a0=10.6
p73-00=11.2
pct=12.4

but im not looking to build a ls/vtec i just talking looking to make a little more tq&hp and maybe spray. so to raise the comp. on the ls w/out vtec is acceptable?

no buddy YOU are wrong....do your homework before posting...
Thats one of the bigger misconceptions,pct's have different compression height than pr4's.goes..pr3's and pr4's, p73's, and pct's.pct being the highest compression height.
and compressed stock headgasket is believed to be .026 thick.
so compression is 12.4.

Because c-speed says its 11.4 doesnt mean is right...

so high comp. non-vtec LS are done and thats the compression they run with ctr pistons,a0&00 pistons(guessinggsr/typeR). so what kind of gain will i be looking at from raising the comp. and is it worth it?

I have a friend who installed P30 pistons in his LS and he said it felt like a good 15 to 20 horses at the wheels over stock. We have yet to prove this via dyno but it'll outrun a stock GSR.
