problems with my 450cc dsm injectors HELLLP
------------------------------------------------------------------------
read the AFC HACK...installed the injectors leaned them out with the vafc to 47 but it didnt idle that great so i went to -50(they are 450cc not 440cc like the thread talked about)...car idles choppy even at -50 are these injectors to big? will i need 440cc's or is it alright to have the car idle like it does..
this guy seems to be talking about the same idle and starts that i have(this quote was posted in the afc hack thread in the faq section)

For the question regarding the 450cc injectors being good at 16psi, they should because I'm running them with 15psi. No problems at all, but I was told that they were at their top duty cycle at that psi. For all you supporters of the AFC hack, do you guys have the fucked up idles and fucked up starts? If those two problems would go away, the hack would be perfect. I mean perfect idles, not almost perfect. Also, is there any way to tune the AFC hack?

Take less fuel out at idle, e.g. -30% trim. When I ran the AFC hack, my car wouldn't idle unless I put alot more fuel in.
will i notice and immediate difference? cause i went down to -40 and it just smoked and was runnning way richer then before.it idles at -50 but choppy and when i give it gas it sounds like the motor is missing
That's weird. I have mine set at -40, and My Idle with the DSM's is really low. It idles at like 800rpm's when its cold and about 400 when it's warm or hot. Also, whenever I decelerate, like downshift and then pull in the clutch, the tach needle will drop really low, to about 200rpm's and then go back up. Also when it's warm, it will do that and then my car will stall. Anyone know what this is related to?
hoodwinked- no i am not using any sort of missing link just the afc hack
i think the reason the car is running choppy when i give it gas was due to the gap in the spark plugs...i might try the dsm injectors agian tomorrow with some new colder spark plugs maybe that has been my problem..the car has been running crappy when i get on it a little since i wire brushed the plugs to clean them and screwed the gap up
i was also thinking that the resistor box may not be working and the injectors are spraying too much fuel

my hack and my 450 idles really good, even before I got it dyno tuned.. I had RC cleaned my injectors before I installed them.

so u can just plug and play some 450cc DSM injectors on a 88-91 Civic CRX OBDO car with a VAFC and or a SFC-VTEC????
theres no other mods to prevent the ecu frying the injectors ???
i have had burnted OBD1 injectors before.. so i dont know if the DSM are or not going to fuse

cummon guys, you should be able to pick this **** out in a minute. afc hack has been around long enough already.

this is on a 89 hatch stock b16, p28 chipped ecu.. those # are settings from the dyno. I suggest you get yours dyno tuned. different mtor will have different settings.

Thanks for posting. This made a night and day difference on a turbo F23. With the sensor in/out both at #1 the car ran EXTREMELY rich and bogged heavily.
I've done at least a dozen AFC installs but never had to mess with the sensor input/output settings. Pays to RTFM sometimes.

set the afc to -47 which will yield close to the equivalent of 240cc inj and -46 the rest of the way accross of the lo throttle corrections. you will have to readjust your idle at your throttle body and it should be good to go...at least that's what i did and it idles like stock.
what i think happens is when the afc is installed the ecu tries to compensate for it and can't figure out what to do unless you make that idle adjustment. when i had my corrections set richer and before i readjusted my idle it would idle really rough and bounce slowly at idle or even stall because it was so rich. i had to keep my foot on the gas slightly at lights and stop signs to keep it from stalling. after i adjusted the idle and reset the ecu no more problems.
