fmu problems?

Default fmu problems?

anyone here been runnin an fmu for quite a while with no problems? i've seen that everyone here seems to hate them, but whats the reasoning behind it all? do they give problems?

They are inconsistent and fuel pressure is something that you dont want a lot of sudden changes in. There isn't much you can do as far as tuning with them and they work by simply raising the fuel pressure to levels that most fuel pumps have a hard time keeping up with. There are a ton of people who have had success with them and a ran 10's or better and then there are those who have got one run out of their car and then it gave up on them.

from what I have read, they are not consistent at all. I have no personal experience but that just my opinion......just my .02 cents

are there some that are better than others? like the inconsistency, do u think it could be that some are just poor quality parts, and u can find some that are better quality and perform better? which ones would u guys say are some of the better brands? also, u guys that have had good experiences with them, state them and those who had problems, state them and what kinda problems have u had? can u tell if one is failing when it happens? what could happen if one fails?

I used them before and have never seen a problem as far as consistency. I is a very basic unit, and there is really no room for variables, aside from the selection of diaphragm. I used a paxton. But it is not a bad idea to either upgrade your in-tank pump, or run a seperate pump inline. my 3 cents.
