Default Does the wg spring rate is important if the boost is controled via AEM EMS ?

like the topic say ... If I want to boost something like 20 psi and the spring is a 5 psi spring does it influence something like faster spool or anything like this ??? I got a TIAL 38 MM ...

I had a Greedy turbo kit controled by my AEM EMS before and I didnt change the spring so I belive that with an external wg this is the same thing ???

Thanx for the info even if it seem stupid I dont know ???

I believe the rule of thumb is don't boost past twice what your spring is rated. Probably because of spiking/reliability issues.

Some EBC's, like the Profec B, can't go more than double the wastegate spring for some reason. It's a huge pain in the ***, that's for sure.

I'm not sure if AEM is the same, probably not.

I would run a spring a few psi less then the lowest boost you want to run, no reason to use a 5 psi spring really.

the higher you go above the wg spring the harder it is to control the boost level. you can do 30psi with a 5psi spring but its a bitch and a 1/2 to tune.

normally we like to run on the wastegate spring for low boost. it makes things easier. but if you want to use the boost control to raise it then a 10-12 psi spring would work well for 15psi boost.
