Some say there is, some say there isn't, so which is it? And is it true that short shifters are bad for you tranny?

Only difference is the ****.

Short shifters aren't necessarily bad for the tranny. Poor shifting technique is. By making the shifts even shorter than stock you increase the chance of you screwing up the transmission if you're not careful.

Personally, I find I can shift faster than the transmission can handle with the stock shifter, so I see no need whatsoever to shorten the shifts even more.
