Default cam gears on type r cam shafts

I`ve read somewhere that if you put some cam gears on your type r cam shafts
and you get it dyno tuned you wil make some hp. Is this so ? and how mutch
hp are we talking about. O by the way i got a cai, header and a good exaust system
(i`m from holland so dont mind my bad english)
Tanks

No you will not gain any horsepower by adding aftermarket cam gears and keeping them set at 0. All they do is give you the option to advance or retard your cam timing. You might be able to get some hp from fooling around with them on a dyno but its not really worth it if you have stock cams n/a.

Not worth it??? are you sure about that?
CAI, header, exhaust and camgears with a VAFC will get a bunch more power.
just adjusting the cam gears properly will gain power.

This is correct.

In the vicinity of ~5-10whp, depending on the other mods.....

I agree with the above 2 statements. You will gain hp. Who buys Adjustable cam gears and leaves them at zero anymore.

There is hp to be had with cam gears, particularly on DOHC engines. All you need is a decent tuner.

I've never tuned before, but by adjusting intake/exhaust gears picked up ~4-5hp across the band n/a...

bang for the buck I'd say that's pretty nice adjustments.

Just contact Tweameister, he'll help you getting a set of ST Corsa cam gears. Got mine from him a while ago, a pleasure to deal with and a nice product. Shipping to Europe is no problem, I'm up in Norway myself.

Here's a link to his web page: http://www.hogens.com
