white smoke when i come to a stop..sometimes
sometimes when i'm driving and i come up to a traffic light or something and i have to make a complete stop, sometimes white smoke will come out the exhaust. its kinda a lot of white smoke too. this only happens sometimes. when i take off from the light, the smoke will go away, when i come up to the next light or whenever i have to make a complete stop again, there's no more white smoke. its happened right after i boosted before and today it happened again, but i didn't even boost.
i don't have coolant in my oil. i'm not overheating. anybody know why this could happen? i'm thinking that i may need a new oil return line or that i need to check it, but i'm not too sure. the smoke is white, not grey or blue...white.

All it is, is a little extra oil getting burned off by turbo. It hurts nothing, does nothing and means nothing. No need to fix. Happy boosting
yeah...i check my coolant level. one time i had to add coolant two weeks after i had filled it up. i'm thinking it could be a small leak somewhere...not to sure.
compression test done: 180 all the way across...motor is a b18b1

If you have a cloud of smoke coming out of the back of the car, it's not normal. If it was normal then everyones car would look like Uncle Buck at a stoplight.
If your slowing down in gear when you come to the light it could be valve seals. In any case your losing either coolant or oil. you just need to figure out which and then figure out from where. Check the intake and exhaust side of the turbo for oil leaks and make sure your oil return isn't clogged.

then you must make sure you don't have a major leak
a coolant system pressure check can reveal the source of a leak.. with special kit you up the pressure through radiator cap to service level, then if pressure starts dropping, you should hear where its coming from.
if its an outside leak, you shouldn't have smoke from exhaust, so it likely inside the engine (headgasket? cracked head or block-sleeve? i dont' know enough to tell exactly), maybe headgakset or a crack somewhere.

most of the time i have a habbit of throwing it in neutral and then slow down, so i'm not in gear.
if i'm losing anything...i would figure it would be coolant cause i have to fill it up at least once a month...so i think i have a leak or a head gasket that my go. don't really know.
this smoke doesn't happen a lot. there's no oil on my spark plugs either.
turbo looks good. no oil leaks...just a little exhaust leak from the dp

i'm thinking i may have a small headgasket leak...not to sure.
when i drive after this happens, whenever it does happen, it goes away.

i bet its your return line, its backing up, make sure its in a downward movement from the turbo to the oil pan, the oil is gravity fed and if the return line is run wrong, it will not properly drain and will clog up
