Default help identify this left over plug after doing a z6 swap, and having a surging problem

about the car and motor: (i'll make it short and sweet)
the car is an 89 civic std hatch. owned by my uncle, one day he blew the motor. another uncle had his d16z6 motor chilling in the garage for a year now since he swapped in a b18c. so my uncle with the std decided to swap in the d16z6. he had problems with the wiring and decided to sell the car to me. i took over and did the wiring to convert the car to obd1.

problem:
after plugging all the plugs i could to the motor, i ended up have two plugs left. one is the old one wire 02 sensor plug, which im not worrying about. and the other plug is a two wire plug (black/yellow stripe and solid orange stripe) could anyone help identify this plug. i'm pretty sure i plugged everything else in correctly. but couldnt find a place to plug this plug in.

also, when i start the car up, the motor would surge up and down really fast, even after warming up.

the check enginge light code im getting is 14 which is the iacv, so i'm going to take the iacv apart and give it a cleaning and see if that solves the problem. but in case that dont work, is there anything else i should look into that could cause this problem.

any help would be appreciated
-brian

my guess is the extra plug, which im guessing is a green plug, goes to the EACV, and the plug thats plugged into the EACV, which im guessing is a white plug, goes to the tandem solonoid on the DPI manifold. leave it unplugged.

DPI -> MPFI, there will always be one plug left

It is the Tandem Valve control solenoid.
It is only used on DPFI hondas.
You can cut it off MPFI swapped cars
And tape up the ends.

cool, thanks, glad to know that i should have one plug left over. i'm gonna take a peek under a buddies dx and make sure i have the right plugs in and then i'll remove the tandem solenoid plug thats left.

now anyone have any advice on the surges besides cleaning out the iacv/eacv?

Your idle is probably surging due to the fact that you have the wrong wires plugged into the IACV. Plug in the right connector, reset the ecu, and see if that helps your idle issue.

On OBD0 cars like ours it is called the EACV or "Electronic Air Control Valve", and it's wire has a round connector with a blk/yel wire and blu/yel wire coming out of it.
On OBD1 and up cars, it's name was changed by Honda to, IACV or "Idle Air Control Valve". They are the same thing and they do the same thing.
