as an alternative to trying to rig up an adjustable actuator arm for my 16g (to lower boost) is it possible to just block the internal wastegate porte and use a external waste gate? i'm sure its possible but i couldn't find anything on the topic.

you could, but you may want to weld the flapper shut so it doesn't open slighlty causing pressure loss and slower spool. Just to be safe...

 

They already make O2 sensor housings that split the turbine exhaust from the WG exhaust. You just bolt on the housing and bolt on the external WG
