Default Is it ok to do this?

I asked this before and I finally found a pic. Does anyone know if it is ok to leave the valve cover to intake tube out? (pic below circled in yellow)

Thanks!

I have left mine open for the past 5 months so I would imagine it would be ok. It just blows hot air. Could be wrong and yes I could be messing up my car but im really not sure.

The green pipe in the picture is in the way of my mugen intake.

I cut away some of the hose from the valve cover to the intake box and it is still really tight which is why I want to eliminate that green pipe entirely. If I do so the lid on the intake will be able to close properly.

I would imagine if any oil goes through there with the green tube in place it will be heated up and vaporized before it gets back into the intake tract?

Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks,

from What I've read.....leaving the tube off is like using a crank case filter,..and everyone seemed to think that was bad! Not good to use that little crank K & N lookin filter on the valve cover....?
I could be wrong but on my ol' RSX-S I left it on as well as the Intakes on my old GSR and would do the same for my R if I even get an intake.
Its not gonna be the type of thing to lock your motor up or **** like that,.but,.it may not be good for the "long haul"?
I could be wrong??

Yes it is ok because in that picture, the valve cover is still connected to the air intake pipe. The tube that is left hanging has nothing to do with it, other then keeping the stock breather hose inline.

I thought the center section wich is hanging out has some holes in it for some kind of vacuum or what/not?

GreenBean, the center section is suppose to be in the middle of the clear hose.

It should be fine removed. It is a coolant loop to pre-heat any air that flows through it. You could just take some 8mm hose and run the loop out of the way, eliminating the metal coupler.
