89 DX wont start, kinda stumped
I've been rebuilding this POS for 6 months, just reconnected the gas lines.
I ran the pump a couple cycles to make sure I had gas in the lines. (Then I pulled the return line and it was wet, so I know I have gas).
I tried to start it...nothing. Engine turns but you never hear it try and start. Pretty much the same thing that you would get when unplugging the ECU.
I pulled a plug wire and put it near a ground to check for spark....I didnt have any and got a shock from holding the INSULATED spk plug wire and touching the frame.
I eventually got a spark from Cyl 1.
I changed the wires anyways with another set I had lying around, I still have spark in cylender 1, but I cant see any in the other cylenders.
This kinda rules out the ignitor, as I do get a spark...but it seems weak as I needed to get really close to a ground wtih the cable from cylender 1 to get a spark.
I pulled the plugs and they were fouled with gas.....I let it dry and tried again.
Still the same thing.
I know I have gas,
I seem to have spark....wtf?
I checked the resistance from my block to the neg batt pol and its 6 ohms, a little high....but shouldnt stop it from starting.
Clues?

From the circuit diagrams it should rule out the ignitor since the ignitor controls the current to the coils.
I fixed it....the problem was stupidity.
When I plugged the fuel lines back in, I reversed the feed and return lines.
Started on the 1st crank after I correct that
