I have 2 Audiobahn AW1206T subs and dotn exactly know how to wire them right. I gave them to my audio shop so they could check fitment of a box they made for me and they gave me them back wired weird. They mokced up my system in the shop and said everything would be cool. Just wonderring why they wired it the way they did. There way is #1 my way I was thinking is #2

Keep #1. Your way only drives one voice coil.

Your subs have two seperated voice coils.
Your way only uses one voice coil while theirs will run both

I agree, wire your subs their way as pictured above.

Your way would work IF you had single voice coil subs.

hey,

i dont understand that picture, in #1, theres two wires (pos and neg) that connect from the amp to the sub. then another two that connects from the sub to the other side of the sub, where does it connect to on the other side

i have 2 eclipse aluminums and i believe they are dual voice coils but i never knew to run another wire to the other side?

You can drive a single vc on a dvc sub, but your power handling will be cut in half.

And why the hell would you want to do that to begin with? You might as well have bought a single voice coil speaker to begin with. Keep it as vteg mentioned.
