Subwoofer Wiring
I need some help deciding how to wire my subs. I got 2 RF HX2 10" subs in a fiberglass enclosure. The HX2's r DVC and 4 ohm stable. My amp is an American Pro 1200 watt amp. Runs 240x2@4 ohms. Its a 2 channel amp btw. I was thinking that I would run them parallel, one sub to one channel. Would this give me the most output and best thump? I am alos wanting to make sure that the subs are runnign the same smote because the box is one whole, not 2 chambers. I know some about all of this stuff, but not alot. My main question is how should I wire these two to the amp for the best boom and to keep them all hooked up right?Should I run them on 2 channels or run them mono? Guys, little help please...
Subwofer Impedance: dual 4 ohms
Amp: YES
Although, if possible I would prefer to wire it at 2ohms stereo mode or whatever. use both channels, and have them both at 2 ohms if possible.. Lil help please!

Hook up the subs in parallel giving a 2 ohm load to each amp channel. This will give you 500 watts per sub(may be off since I don't know specs of amp). Since the box is not divided, run mono. Running stereo may cause some cancellation and other strange things.

Alright... ONE question, like peiche said... If i run them at 2 ohms a piece and then wire them together, will that be 2 ohms load? Because running them mono means using right + and left - or other way... Its on the amp.. I really wnated to run one sub to one channel, but i thought that would be the problem.... Anyway I cna do that, keep the 2ohm per sub and keep it mono while running on both channels? My amp doesnt double its power at 2 ohms, but it does run 420 rms... 480 doubled... but ya... Its a vast improvement... The thing is wired mono it only will run 480 rms.... And that is cut in half when 2 subs r running off of one channel right? So that each is only running 240... which sends me to 4 ohms... I might be wrong, but then again, I am also lost! I'll do whatever you guys say... I mena I can chaneg it and all, would prefer not to rip in and out.... But my other sub is scheduled for delivery tomorrow and i got eveything in, caulked, screwed down... the whole nine yards, except for this.... Which I hope ill have fixed by tomorrow morning, afternoon.. but if not, oh well...
You have confused the hell out of me
Peichie's recommendation is more foolproof than mine. First of all if you wire the subs at 2 ohms a piece and connect them you will get 4 or 1 not 2 ohms. Wiring subs for 8 ohms and connecting them to get 4 is the safest way to prevent your amp from having to dieal with 1 ohm in case of miswiring. When you bridge you amp into this 4 ohm load you will end up with 960 watts(maybe, I am still confused on your amps specs).
Please post your amps model.

I think Peichie is refering to the load that the amp is seeing. subs in 4 ohms, amp sees 2ohms.
two hx2's in a 4ohm load is loud as ****. I would start with that and if u are not satisfied then switch them to a 2 ohm load.
I really dont like to run a load lower than 4 0hms personally.
if your box is not two seperate chambers you want to have your subs ran in mono not stereo like you stated before. if they fight against each other they will kill each other.

go to http://www.rockfordfosgate.com and go to "RFTech" and then go to the wiring wizard. Put in all of your details and it will show you all of the options and recomendations and such.
