Type-R Throttle Cable HELP!!
Ok. First off, I have a 2000 Integra GS-R.
I got a Benen 3 point strut bar, so I decided to switch over to a Type-R Throttle Cable and Bracket, so it wouldn't touch the bar (I have a Skunk2 IM).
I got a non GSR TB Pulley and spring (Out of a CX), and swapped that out along with the Throttle cable and bracket.
Now the TB Pulley spring seemed alot weaker than the GSR one. But I still went ahead and put it on. After I installed everything (ITR Throttle Cable, Bracket, and non GS-R tb pulley and springs), I turned the car on and noticed that the Gas Pedal was VERY VERY soft. It wasn't nearly as stiff as it was before.
Feels like the gas pedal isn't even pushing back... barely. I checked and the throttle cable isn't loose and all the bolts are tightened off. How can I make the gas pedal stiffer like it use to be? Do Type-R's have a stronger Gas pedal springs than GS-R's? Are they even different?
Next thing that I noticed was that whenever I pressed the gas, the RPM would stick at 2000-3000rpm. I checked the pulley and it wasn't closing all the way. I had to use my fingers to press down on the TB Pulley to close it. Is this because the TB pulley spring is weak? FAWK!

i'm no expert in this area, but this sounds like the source of your problems..</TD></TR></TABLE>
because the GSR TB pulley twists left to right while as the Type-R TB pulley twists right to left since the Throttle cable is pulling from the right side instead of the left. Type-R, b16, d16, and h22a TB Pulleys twist the same direction. That's why I used one from a Civic.
Anyways...
I took it all off again and took a close look at the spring and pulley. I saw some rust on it, so I used some WD40 on that biatch, and after letting it saok for awhile, the rust was gone and lubed up.
I put it back on, tightened the cable, and started the car up.
The idle problem was fixed. The pulley doesn't get caught anymore, thank God. I tightened the throttle cable up pretty nicely, and the pedal feels reasonable now. Although not as stiff as it was before. But it's not bad either. Car still pulls very nicely.
Who knew a spray of wd40 would solve all this headache.
