Default Having some problems with TB stuff... Please HELP!

Ok. I got a Benen 3 point strut bar, so I decided to switch over to a Type-R Throttle Cable and Bracket, so it wouldn't touch the bar.

I got a non GSR TB Pulley and spring, and swapped that out along with the Throttle cable and bracket.

Now the TB Pulley spring seemed alot weaker than the GSR one. But I still went ahead and put it on. After I installed everything, I turned the car on and noticed the Gas Pedal was ALOT LESS stiffer than it use to be.

Feels like the gas pedal isn't even pushing back. The throttle cable isn't loose and all the bolts are tightened off. How can I make the gas pedal stiffer like it use to be?

Next thing that I noticed was that whenever I pressed the gas, the RPM would stick at 2000-3000rpm. I checked the pulley and it wasn't closing all the way. I had to use my fingers to press down on the TB Pulley to close it. Is this because the spring is weak?

HELP!

Very possible the spring is too weak. I'd invest in a quality aftermarket throttle body.

its not necessarily that the spring is weak, its that the TB pulley is getting jammed because it wasent designed for the TB stop.

I tried adjusting the little stopper screw on mine, and even took it completely off, but the pulley kept getting jammed.

If you give the gas a sharp hit the TB pulley will close all the way, i'm still trying to fix the problem. ex. give the throttle a kick and drop it from like 50%, itll close. If you give it a little gas, the spring dosent have enough strenght/momentum to close it all the way.

which pulley did you use? i have a d16 pulley, do not use a 1st gen b16 pully

Yea. I noticed that too. I had to give the gas a sharp hit to make it go down some.

Also, is your gas pedal stiff like its suppose to be? Mine's soft as hell. I press it a little and it goes all the way in....

Damnit... i should've just stuck with my stock cables and pulleys.

yea, the pedal is really soft, i think it has to do w/ the shorter cable. Try other TB pulleys, so far i have seen not to use 1st gen b16 pulleys. the d16 pulleys get stuck because of the spring.

and if you coil the spring on really tight, the throttle pulley will get jammed on the stopper.

Ok. I took it all off again and took a close look at the spring and pulley. I saw some rust on it, so I used some WD40 on that biatch, and after letting it saok for awhile, the rust was gone and lubed up.
I put it back on, tightened the cable, and started the car up.

The idle problem was fixed. The pulley doesn't get caught anymore, thank God. I tightened the throttle cable up pretty nicely, and the pedal feels reasonable now. Although not as stiff as it was before. But it's not bad either. Car still pulls very nicely.

Who knew a spray of wd40 would solve all this headache.
