wich brand of pistons is the best suited for street use? ross, arias, wiseco, JE, srp, CP, etc...

my setup here as follow:

B18B (only pistons will be changed+ a block guard, do i really need the block guard?)
transmission: GSR
turbo T25 @8psi (not planning to boost any higher than that)
440cc injector (talon)
fuel management: SMC+
MSD BTM
custom mandrel bent exhaust downpipe 2-3/4 and the line is 2-1/2


not sure wether i should go with 8.5cr or 9.0cr, I will bore out 81.5mm on the stock sleeves, obviously

my setup has been running for a year but now it smokes like hell, bad compression in piston #3 thats why im changing to forged pistons

 

i say Wiseco I ran wiseco in my past engines I only now switched to ROSS because they are a lot heavier In my opion and I am running about 32psi or so.

Anyway I had great luck with Wiseco and they are realatvly cheap and they can handle a lot]

 

but will the ross do the job for my setup?

 

this is always on here, do a search, BTW its almost entirely opinion.

 

Oh yea ross will deffinatly do the job but for the cost Wiseco is a good choice.

For a high HP app. Ross are great but I think for your set up anything would really be fine even stock LS.

 

I did have search alot dont worry, but the questions asked are for different setup or diffenrent future project,,, here I'm talking about a simple reliable setup for street, not hardcore at all

oh and how about the CR and the block guard?

 

CR I'd go with like between 9-10:1 really its just what you think 9:1 is going to be the safer way to go but 10:1 will give you the low end that a lot of people like.

anyway onto the blockgaurd I had one and didnt like it caaused my engine to over heat and ****. But some people have good luck with them.

try to find piston who contain sillicon it it ... like the SRP you will be able to run them tigher so less noise and better sealling capacity when the engine will not be used full throttle...
