what copression pistons should i get for a jr supercharger
im picking up a jr chager this weekend. it has the 10 psi pulley.this is my first time boosting and i dont know what pistons to buy for my setup. im looking for a compression that will keep it really reliable for daily driving and road trips. oh my setup is a b16a2 head with a b18b block.

I ran mine with 10.2:1 pistons and it ran fine. I ran it with 8.4:1 pistons and it also ran fine, but made very little power. I'd keep it around 10:1.

A friend of mine has a GSR with wiseco 11.5:1 pistons, eagle rods, full valve train, walbro 255, 550cc injectors, hondata fuel management and a jackson with the stock pulley and that thing screams. no traction first, second, spins third and grabs at top of third. its fast!

really. my setup calculated to 11.3:1 on c-speedracing.com i was wandering if i could could use my pistons. heres my setup again. jr supercharger with 10psi pulley b18a block with itr flywheel clutch,water and oil pump, pr3 pistons with lsrods,b16a2 head milled twenty thousands with a cometic head gasket. i plan on getting hondata with boost as soon as i get the charger put on and get it tuned by tom at payntechnologies. more info on the pistons please

Technically low would be safer. But since boost is consistently low (under 10psi) you can run high compression. You could do the same with a turbo I guess. It's all in the tune really, but if I were to do jrsc, it would be with high compression.

i have always wnated to run a high compression supercharged car, because most low compression S/C cars don't make any power.I think you shpuld run some 11:5:1 compression pistons, with a upgraded pulley and some hondata or something, with some big injectors and go for it.That would be awesome.

Actually, most superchargers need the higher compression in 4 cyl applications due to principle that you're using the engine's power to make additional power. Anything below 9.5:1, and you may have a lot less power. If you plan on going any F/I route, just be sure to not skimp on management, and you'll be ok. For years I used a few SC'd Roots-type setup, and each time, the higher compression was the better choice.

From a post on June 15th. I had trouble running 15 pounds of intercooled, much more efficient turbo boost on a 10.5:1 motor, nevermind 15 pounds non intercooled on a horribly inefficient roots blower that is hella small for 280 WHP.

It's bullshit because if you wern't stupid and actually owned the car you'd see VTEC right on the valve cover, clown. It's bullshit because 15 pounds non intercooled of hot roots boost and 11:1 SCR don't go together. It's bullshit because you sound like you don't have the know-how to install a CAI.

i didnt know you could run 15 psi on the charger. wasnt anything beyond 12 unconsistant. does anyone have any info on this. also im planing on getting the charger installed at the end of the month. waiting on injectors and money for a tune. ill keep ya posted

thats what i thought. i thought 10-11 was pushhing it unlees the charger is rebiult with lighter/cooler carbon fiber fins?? more info??
