Apexi V-AFC or Fields SFC-VTEC...Which one should I get and why?
I have an old Fields SFC-VTEC controller and am thinking about getting the Apexi one. what do you guys recommend? Try to sell me on one although I dont mind getting another Fielfds as long as its cheaper.
VAFC is the best one out there for the money. $300 and you have a lot of tunning options, for a daily driver/weekend racer its a good deal in my book.

my VAFC did nothing but chage the vtec from 4400 to 5000 rpm. Unless you have some seious mods you will not be using any of the other options. I wish I would not bought the darn thing!
Kind of off topic, but for you guys who run more than 11:1 compression on the street, what are your fuel systems like? Do you use bigger injectors, fuel pump, FPR setting, ignition timing, 91 pump gas?? Please let me know. I have some pinging problems with 11.3:1 CR Endyn RW in my LSVTEC. Currently I am at around 10-12 degrees of timing to avoid detonation, FPR set at 48 psi, stock pump, RC cleaned and balanced injectors. I want to be able to run at 16 deg of timing on 91. Any suggestions?? TIA.
If you have a Fields already, it's time to graduate up to a Apexi VAFC. The Fields more simple but everyone raves about the Apexi piece and what it can do. I still don't know what route I'll end up going.

u can get the Field w/ english instructions. and even if u cant, there are plenty of sites that post both japanese and english instructions on the net.
well i have been looking at alot of posts about people having a code 3 (map sensor code) and everyone that has this problem including me have the fields unit. seems that the unit gets beat around too much from driving and starts giving error codes. so id say vafc.
I got the Apex-i becasue it seemed to have more flexibility as a tunning device and it use the stock fuel maps to base it's adjustments of off. Other than that, I think it looks better than the Fields.
