Wife's Accord again... this time need to know how to get the CEL code
Hey all,
Well, my wife's accord starts up great now that I put in the new starter. While I was at it, I also went ahead and changed the plugs.
After a couple days of driving though, my wife told me that the check engine light is on!
I assumed it was like my Civic where there's some plug by the ECU that I could jump and pull the code, but after looking around under both sides in the Accord, I didn't see a plug I could jump.
I did see a grey plug by the ecu under the driver dash that I'm assuming is what the dealer plugs their ODBII code reader into.
Is there any way I can just pull the code?
The car is a 1998 Accord EX 4cyl.
Thanks again!

You can jumper that diagnostic port.

You could have AutoZone plug in their code reader (for free). Get them to tell you the actual code number, not just the guy's description.
yeah, for the accord there is a port under the passenger side dash, its blue and its hard to angle yourself to find it but you have to squeze the sides together to pop it out of its holder, then pull the plug from its casing and use a paper clip to connect the two metal pieces, either tape it in place or have another person watch the dash cause the light will start blinking and that will be your code, long flashes for tens digit, and short flashes for the ones digit. have fun

I don't think 1998 and newer Accords have that connector.

take it from somebody who had a 98 dash apart just 2 weeks ago, there is no port under the passenger side dash

Yea, I was pretty sure about that. You can jump pins 4 and 9 on the DLC to get the code.
