My son's car CEL comes on and the local repair shop detects a P1452 code. They want to replace the evap canister and a mess of controls for $700. (He lives 600 miles away and I can't easily check vehicle myself.)

Can't find a code listing or description in either of my Haynes Accord manual or OBD II tech guide book. I'm guessing it is related to the evap canister or one of the related solenoids. Replaced a canister vent shut valve solenoid on our 2001 accord years ago. It was corroded and not working. CEL went away. However can't recall the specific code from that situation.

Any insight or help related to the p1452 code would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Someone got the number wrong -1452 is not a Honda code for this gen Accord.

So from here I can only guess...based upon saying the evap canister and other controls. I'll say that it is something with the evap purge and or the by-pass solenoids/valves. If he/you/ the car live in a "salty" area the canister usually will get damaged when trying to replace the canister purge valve so many will just add that to the list.

Like you, I couldn't find that code anywhere in my repair books or online for that vehicle. I've asked that the garage redo the code check on the vehicle. I'll let you know what and if they find anything different.
