My vtec stopped working :(

Default My vtec stopped working :(

the cars at 74,XXX miles and just a couple of days ago I vteced it in 3rd gear and I heard it kick in, but it was kicking in in a weird way it was like going off and on I got scared so I didnt mess with it, and today I tried it again and it didn't work at all !!!?? i have got the 60,000 mile service to from Acura what and my car was warm as the way it always was

Not sure, but oil COULD be the problem .

As everyone else is saying, check your oil level, if you're low on oil you will get these problems with vtec.

I had this problem when my Vehicle Speed Sensor(VSS) was wacked out.

I had this problem too....cause I burned a quart of oil a week.
Check your oil

you might need a new vtec but check your oil first

Same thing happened to me at 76,XXX. Fortunately, I'd already been fighting with the dealership and waranty company about oil consumption for a few months. They topped off the oil level, but it happened again a week later. Combination of burning a quart of oil in less than 400 miles and a faulty VTEC solenoid. It took seven weeks to get the car back, but I got a new short block and a loaner car under waranty.
