I used to run a Crane Hi-6 setup with the Crane coil as well, but there wasn't that much difference than stock. It "seemed" a bit smoother, but who knows, it could have been in my head. The stock ignition system does just fine. The bad thing about aftermarket ignitions is that they burn through caps, rotors and plugs a lot faster = more money.

Bump - I'm interested also, in the gains of running an aftermarket ignition with an NA set-up...

And if you were to stick with stock, how benneficial would it be to run aftermarket wires (eg: spoon grounded wires)?

Amen, never needed more than stock and good plugs.

Only thing you need aftermarket systems for is Nitrous or FI, for all motor they are good for rev limiters only, IMO

Hahah, I have been shocked a few times. I thought someone hit me in the back or something really hard hahah.

But I have a cranehi6 and ps92 coil just cuz my honda coil went out. No problems with the setup after 4 years. I do like the rev limter for my chipped ecu.

I noticed when I had cams in my LS back then that it saved gas a lil and the car felt noticeably more responsive, but nothing crazy
