Vtec oil screen.. how often do you clean it out?
i know if you take off the silonoid there is a little screen that gets dirty and can mess with the vtec..
how often do you guys clean or check this?
only during swaps.. or if vtec code is up?
if its during it can effect the oil pressure and reading for vtec right?

I mean; at least for what i've seen; those dont get dirty often.
You can pry the gasket with the screen out of the solenoid and clean it.

well reason i ask, is that anyone who asks bout oil pressure, or vtec problems.. CEL and what not.. this is mentioned, i was wondering on any benfits to keep it clean and in top shape... i hear some ppl go in and out of vtec cause of pressure and other issues, i am sure this would help keep it up to top
do you take off the vtec silinoid first or can you get the screen/filter without taking it off?

The only times i've seen the screen get clogged is on engines that haven't been very well maintained. (sludge monsters from lack of oil changes)

Agreed. Under normal conditions and a well-maintained setup, you shouldn't have to worry about cleaning it, EVER!
