I was surfing on hmotorsonline.com and found d15b. I am sure many of ht members have seen that engine on hmo and it doesnt say anything about ecu i need to use.
So i am guessing its OBD1 since its 92-95 engine? and what ecu will i need to use? I thought p08 was made for that engine but hondaswap.com says it does not control vtec. So will i need to get a different ecu?
Can i use stock ecu (DX) and a vafc to make it work somehow?

You can use a 92-95 Civic Si/EX P28 ECU.

The P28 was found in the 1992-95 Civic Si and EX. These cars had the SOHC VTEC D16Z6 motor and were OBD1, so the P28 ECU is OBD1. This is a common ECU to find and it would be a perfect match for the D15B VTEC.

 

i have the d15b vtec in one of my EF hatch's i gt it from steven from HMO, known his for a bit, real nice guy, if you have a 92-95 civic u do NOT need to convert, but in my case i have a obd0 civic, i had too, justget one from blownhatch or bllomslang, use the jmd p08, or use a p28 and wire the vtec to the ecu, or u can be "kool" and get a vafc,

Yeah, and Hondaswap also has a disclaimer:

They are wrong about the P08. It is the JDM version of the P28. It has VTEC control, and is the proper ECU for the D15B VTEC. The P08-900 is automatic, but it can be converted to manual easily.

 

8ty9CRXDX - What year chassis are you working with? Now that I read your name I'm assuming it's an 89 CRX DX? If so, I'm not sure if you have the wiring converted yet or not, but you'll need to go from DPFI to MPFI first. Then, if you want to stay OBD0, you could use a modded 88-91 Civic/CRX Si distributor, OBD0 injectors with resistor box then a chipped PR3 or PW0. If you go the OBD0 route, it would be a little easier than an OBD1 conversion.
