i have this book on turbochargers and in one chapter it talks about water injection. it was talking about some tests they did on water injection and it said that they got up to and over 180psi with water injection, without any detonation problems, and i think that was with pump gas. but they did not talk about any of the downsides of using water injection. so what are the downsides and how much boost are you guys running with water injection? and is it at all possible to set up, lets say an ls, twin turbod rinning 60-80lbs of boost with water injection on pump gas? just curious?

 

180 psi that are 12 Bar?!? i don't think that ANY motor can handle such a boost pressure... maybe you have no detonation but i think you will have a broken piston or something...

you can get higher boost levels but it depens much on the CR and on the engine itself how far you can go...

water injection brings a lot bot how much... don't know

i think that 180psi would be cyinder pressure, not boost.??? 180 psi of boost would blow the ****** motor apart! and you would have to have an f-16 engine blowin into the motor to get that much boost!! but anyways, if anyone could post mor einfo on water injection in this thread it would be helpful

Not to be a dick but.....ummmm, no. I think that a 22 psi single turbo setup on pump and water/meth is a little bit more realistic.
